I almost miss the good old political posts of lj, where shit would hit the fan and catcalling would ensue in the comment threads.

True Life; I'm Deaf [Jul. 21st, 2008|08:55 am]

ericaloren
Chris's show, True Life I'm Deaf aired yesterday and was a great success. It was truly touching to so many out there. He did amazing!! My parts were limited, but when I saw myself I got very camera shy (on the other end!) haha. It was definitely weird seeing myself on TV. I'm getting adds left and right on myspace and facebook, some just asking questions about Chris. Even though our relationship withered away, Chris and I are still friends. I love him with all of my heart. He's taught me so much (mostly non-intentionally). From him I've learned to love EVERYBODY no matter what the circumstance. Because of him, I'm continuing to learn Sign Language (I'll be taking classes in college next fall). I wanted to post some links so I have them for future references. I have the episode recorded and tivoed!! If you have any questions or want to see some flicks from the episode (other than the youtube link i posted), come in contact with me. It was all truly amazing.

URGH! A SKYPE WAR! [Jul. 21st, 2008|04:08 am]

fredryk
My hip is doing a lot better. I can walk on both legs now. Thanks to everybody that sent get-well LJ comments, ahyurk.

Other than lying in bed and groaning, I'm constantly struggling with more content towards my cartoon, but I can at least say that it's still steadily coming together.

In other news, I set up a Skype account on my PSP.. I had no idea they put such a thing on a handheld gaming console. I just want to use it to talk to people like on Ventrilo or Teamspeak, or whatever, not the money-costing telephone service. How the hell does this thing work, anyway?

Surprisingly, my nickname on Skype is simply " FredrykPhox "

long time no see. [Jul. 20th, 2008|10:11 pm]

Yeah so i figured i would update my live journal.
Its been a decent summer so far. I started off working at Applebees and quit after 3 weeks because it was a shitty job. Now I'm working at Michaels and its a great job. Its 7:30-12:30 monday through friday and besides the fact that no human being should have to wake up at 5:30, its a good schedule. I lift heavy boxes and stock the whole time and my friend is my manager.

Its nice being home from school but living at home is getting harder and harder. I think my parents still believe that I'm in 7th grade.

I'm excited to go back to school. My professor from last semester asked me to be his 'design assistant' so i'll be making posters for Ramapo and i'll be getting paid for it! I just made a poster for the fall show 'Eurydice'. Maybe if I grow some balls ill post it on here or something.

The 311 Unity Tour 2008 show was last night. 3rd year in a row. SO good :)

Today The Sugz(Shugz?) determined that is going to be a great week.

I think if I had either a)super amount of enthusiasm for Batman in general and b) had seen the film at 12:00AM friday morning, I too would be super enthusiastic about The Dark Knight, calling it the most amazing thing I'd ever had the pleasure to sit through, and would gladly see 3 more times.

I, on the slightly other hand, saw it at 3:45 on Saturday, meaning I liked it, was never bored, always kept guessing what was going to happen, and glad I was able to add to it's most likely immense first weekend boxoffice. Do I want to see it again, tomorrow? Next week? nah, not really. It was good, but in no way in the top 10 movies of all time.

Heath Ledger's acting has been hyped because of the fact that it revealed an immense amount of potential from a hot/cold actor, of whose performance we will never see again after the next Terry Gilliam movie. He was good, and probably worthy of a best supporting actor nom, but not one of the greatest performances of all time. Maybe of our generation, sure. But not all time.

Anyone notice how TAN/makeuped christian bale's chin is in the batman mask?

So maybe my criticism is just me being a part of the backlash that always happens when things get super hyped. I'll probably like it more as the days go by, as opposed to when I saw Matrix 2, another super hyped sequel I just HAD to see, which I grew to hate as the days went by.

Oh who am I kidding, the minute I step away from the computer I'll accept it's greatness. watch.

A rickabamboo... now what is that? [Jul. 17th, 2008|10:29 pm]

[Current Mood | exhausted]
[Current Music |That's What You Get - Paramore]

I am overloaded. In every sense of the word. I have work every weekday. I leave the house at 8 am and come back at around 5:30 pm. Then I have dinner. Then I have to go do coursework for my summer linguistics class (that I must take now or else I have to wait til spring of senior year which would not be a smart idea). So that's basically the rest of my evening. That'd be fine except my extended family is staying with us, so can I hang out with them and spend time with them? No. I have to sit here on the computer. WHINE WHINE WHINE. MYEH!

Oh, but that's not all. I love my campers, I really do, but today and yesterday they were aggravating me and Troi and Renee to NO end. Are 9- and 10-year-old girls really incapable of following directions?! Good googly moogly!

I think back to how I was as a 10-year-old, and I was SO obedient. I had no attitude or backtalk whatsoever. Well, I barely spoke at all, but still! I was a good child. And def not as weird as a lot of these ones. Some of them scare me, fo realz. "Tigger!" this one girl says (Tigger's my camp name), "do- do you- do you wanna hear me... do my singing?"
... "Uhh sure sweetie, but can I do that later?"
"Ok." *skips off to play with a moth or talk to a tree or something*
My goodness! But at least that one is nice. Others... not so much. This other girl yells at us. At the counselors. Who does she think she is?
One of the nicest counselors we have, her name is Skittles. This girl starts yelling at her. Skittles says, "Who are you yellin' at?!"
"You!" the girl says. Oh no she didn't. That's when we sent her to the administrative staff to deal with her. That one has been the bane of our existences for the past two weeks.

I have so many pictures (though not from camp yet - that's what tomorrow's for) that I wanna upload and put on Facebook and shiz, but I haven't had time to do that or much of anything else lately. I'm sure I'll get in a groove soon.

Despite all my bitching, I am the happiest I've been in a while. I like who I am when I'm with the people I'm with now. That hasn't been true all the time over the past year. I want summer to last and last... :)

Hey, everybody, this is Ryan, Fred's roommate.

Fred was in a forklift accident earlier today, and is going to be off of his feet for a little while. He is requesting that I update his livejournal to let everyone know he's okay, and he'll probably try to get on Stickam later on tonight (around 11 or 12, CST), more than likely to explain everything himself, since I hate all this LJ crap.

Anyhow, he's groaning for me to go get him some Nehi or some shit, so everyone have a lovely afternoon.

mini cooper and the ipod. [Jul. 14th, 2008|07:03 pm]

[bowied]
Hi gang.

I got a 2006 mini cooper s 3 days ago. I love it and I have named him Alfie (after Michael Caine's character, not Jude Law's, mind you).

Alfie came with an ipod attachment thing in the glove compartment. When I plug in my ipod the car doesn't seem to recognize that it's there. I was told all I needed to do was press mode. All that does is take me back and forth between the radio and the CD player.

Anyone have any suggestions? I can take it back to the dealer and he would gladly show me but it's kind of hard for me to squeeze that in at the moment.

Thanks a million and sorry if this question has been asked several times before.

This isn't me I've never missed work never been late (with one exception when there was ice on my driveway)...I checked my schedule I know I did but how did i have work?
So I get to christines party, said my awkward hellos, and then i decide to park my car in a better location...as i was doing that, my work calls and says I'm scheduled for 9pm and it was 21:37 so I curse myself out, regroup, and start driving home. I got changed, got to work, and got to explaining myself at 22:49.
I really dont know how this happened...the worst part is i should have been studying and if i had been doing that i wouldnt be feeling like a complete dbag
i give up im only gonna leave this house for school, work, and possibly to catch fireflies/build a small fort.
good night!

Oil Change [Jul. 10th, 2008|02:18 pm]

Dear all - I just got my first little light on, that I need to change my oil.
I really want to take it to the dealership, of course, but ironically my dealership is on strike, and the next closest one is like 50 miles away... :)
Do you think it would be better to wait for a little while and then take my baby to the dealership, or just take it to a regular oil change place asap?
